Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 01/04/2024. There were 63 children, ages 7 weeks- 5 years, 15 staff members providing direct care and supervision and various support staff present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staff qualifications and trainings, staffing and supervision, physical plant, programs, emergencies and nutrition. The children were observed in the following: free choice activities, participating in learning activities, and during large motor play outside; infants were observed in playtime and being fed and allowed to sleep on demand. A total of 6 children?s records, 6 staff records, and 6 medications were reviewed. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 9:15 am and departed at 12:15 pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Based on observations, the center failed to ensure that in areas used by children of preschool age or younger electrical outlets shall have protective covers.

Evidence:
1. There were 3 uncovered electrical outlets on a power cord located by a downstairs restroom.
2. There was an uncovered electrical outlet in the downstairs men?s restroom.
3. There were 4 uncovered electrical outlets in the cafeteria.
4. Preschool aged children were observed in the areas.
Plan of Correction: Will have the outlets replaced to have built in covers.
