Inspector Notes
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today between the hours of 9:30am-11:45 am. There were a total of 69 children with 15 supervising staff members present. Children were observed during circle time, diapering, handwashing, and engaged in group activities. A selection of staff and children records, medications and other documents were reviewed. The physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Violations
5Evidence:
1. Agent #1 has lived in the state of Maryland in the preceding five years. A copy of the results an out of state Child Abuse and Neglect search was not available at the time of the inspection.
2. An out of state Child Abuse and Neglect search was sent out for Agent #1 on December 6, 2022.
Evidence:
1. Staff #5's orientation (Date of hire-08/18/2022) did not include the training delivery method.
Evidence:
1. In the Preschool Classroom, the couch located in the library area had two four inch rips in the cushion.
2. In the Discovery Preschool Classroom, the single chair located in the library area had a quarter size tear on the left and right arm of the chair.
3. In the Discovery Preschool Classroom, there was a dime sized hole in the wall containing a stud where a bookcase used to be located. The hole had sharp edges that could snag skin and entangle clothing.
Evidence:
1. In the Discovery Preschool classroom bathroom, a foot operated trashcan did not have a plastic liner located inside. A pull up was observed in the trashcan.
Evidence:
1. The first aid kit did not two triangular bandages.
