Inspector Notes
An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated and completed on 3/6/24 from 10:30am until 12:30pm. At the time of entrance, there were 58 children in care with 12 staff present. A sample of 6 children's records and 6 staff records were reviewed. Children were observed engaging in free play, circle time and eating lunch. Lunch service procedures and diapering/handwashing procedures were also observed. First aid and emergency supplies, documentation of emergency practice drills, medication, children's injury reports and required center postings were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law. Violations are listed on the violation notice issued to the center and were discussed with the assistant director during the exit interview.
Violations
2Based on record review and interview, the center did not ensure that each staff member shall submit documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening at the time of employment and prior to coming into contact with children.
Evidence:
1. The record for staff 1 (date of employment: 1/23/24) contains a tuberculosis screening dated 2/21/24, which is after the date of employment.
2. Center management confirmed that the tuberculosis screening was completed after staff 1's first date of employment.
Evidence:
In the four-year old classroom, there were approximately 25 staples lying on the rug under the bulletin board and accessible to the children in care. The licensing inspectors observed children playing in this area of the classroom during the inspection.
