Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed on 02/18/2025 as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 1:00pm and ended at 2:45pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements. There were 57 children present and 14 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 2 staff records. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-270-A
Areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.

There was peeling paint on the wall s in the school-age room in reach of children.
Plan of Correction: A work order was previously placed to have the center painted. The director will follow-up with maintenance.
Standard 8VAC20-780-500-A
Staff shall wash their hands with soap and running water before and after a diaper change.

A staff member did not wash her hands with soap and running water before changing a child's diaper in the infant room.
Plan of Correction: The director will re-coach staff on how to properly change a diaper and when they are required to wash their hands.
Standard 8VAC20-780-70
Documentation to demonstrate that the individual possesses the education,
certification, and experience required by the job position, and orientation and
training as required in 8VAC20-780-240 and 8VAC20-780-245, shall be kept for each staff person.

The center did not have documentation to demonstrate Staff A possessed the education,
certification, and experience required for her position as a program leader.
Plan of Correction: The director will obtain documentation of Staff A's qualifications and maintain it in her record.
