Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was completed on 10/23/2025 as a part of the licensure period.The on-site inspection began at 1:00pm and ended at 3:00pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements. There were 58 children present and 11 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 3 staff records. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 22.1-289.035-B-2
Staff are required to have submitted fingerprinting prior to their start date. Staff #3 began employment 9 days prior to the center obtaining the results of a fingerprinting.
Plan of Correction: The center thought the employee had 30 days. Moving forward staff will not be hired until the fingerprints are obtained.
Standard 8VAC20-780-550-G
Documentation shall be maintained of emergency evacuation drills.
The center did not have documentation of conducting fire drills for the months of June, July and September.
Plan of Correction: The assistant director stated she thinks the center did conduct some of the missing drills, however neglected to document when it was practiced. The director, assistant director and health and safety manager will be responsible for ensuring drills are conducted and properly documented.
