Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated and concluded on 8/13/2021. There were 82 children present with 14 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 22VAC40-665-580-F
Based on review, all staff who work directly with children and who are employed by an approved vendor prior were not current in CPR and first aid training.
Evidence:
1. Staff A had taken CPR and First Aid Training, but it had expired on 4/04/2021.
Plan of Correction: I will ask her to complete the training when she returns.
Standard 22VAC40-665-580-H
Based on interview, a Staff member who works directly with children did not complete the Virginia Health and Safety Update Training for Child Care Staff.
Evidence:
1. Staff member #3 (Hire date 3/11/2021) completed the Preservice training on 11/05/2016, but did not complete the Virginia Health and Safety update training.
Plan of Correction: I asked her to do it this week.
