Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 8/23/2022 from 10:45am-1:00pm. There were 93 children (infants-5yrs.) supervised by 18 direct care staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, napping, singing, and eating lunch. Hand-washing procedures were also observed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Based on observation, areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside were not maintained in a safe and operable condition.

Evidence: On the preschool playground, 5 tricycles had rust on the frames.
Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection. Will replace and order today.
Standard 8VAC20-780-440-E
Based on observation, the center did not ensure that occupied cots have at least 12 inches of between them.

Evidence: There were thirteen occupied cots in the toddler classroom that had approximately 1 - 4 inches of space between them.
Plan of Correction: We will change the routine to make additional space for the cots.
Standard 8VAC20-780-560-G
Based on observation, not all of the food containers brought from home were clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner.

Evidence: In the 3's classroom, 2 of 2 food containers were missing the date.
Plan of Correction: Will date.
