Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 09/30/2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 4 children present, ranging in ages from 2 years to 5 years, with 4 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on interviews it was determined that staff do not have the required training to administer a prescribed medication that the center has agreed to administer to children. Evidence: Child A has three medications that are required to be administered through a gastrostomy tube (G-Tube) at the facility. Staff on-site have current MAT (Medication Administration Training) certification, however the current Medication Administration Training does not cover administering medication through a G-tube.
