Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was initiated on and concluded on 06/08/2022. There were 5 children present, ranging in ages from 12 months to 5 years, with 6 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation it was determined that not all hazardous substances were kept locked. Evidence: A chemical closet in the hallway was observed unlocked. This closet contained various chemicals that stated to keep out of reach of children.
Plan of Correction: The chemical closets containing hazardous substances will be kept locked.
Standard 8VAC20-780-80-A
Based on interviews it was determined that there was not always documentation of an attendance record in each classroom. Evidence: There was no attendance record for classroom #3.
Plan of Correction: There will be an attendance record kept daily for each classroom.
