Inspector Notes

A complaint investigation was completed on 11/6/2023 from 10:05am through 1:45pm. The complaint consisted of allegations received by the Northern Licensing Office regarding building maintenance issues. Based on staff interviews and observation of the physical plant, there was sufficient evidence to support the allegation regarding building maintenance the complaint is determined to be valid. The area
of non-compliance is identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on observation of the physical plant and staff interviews, it was determined that equipment in the center was not maintained in a safe and operable condition.

Evidence: The center's fire alarm panel, which is utilized to alert occupants in the building, as well as emergency services of a fire, is not functioning properly. Smoke detectors were heard beeping repeatedly throughout the time of inspection (approximately 10:05am through approximately 1:45pm). Management reported the smoke detectors are beeping because they aren't getting enough power. In addition, the fire alarm panel which powers the smoke detectors doesn't have enough wattage which requires it to be manually reset numerous times each day. Management stated if the fire alarm panel is not manually reset when it beeps then the system goes offline. Management advised this issue has been going on for approximately one year.
