Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was conducted on 11/09/2023. A tour of the facility was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with staff. A sample of children?s and staff records were reviewed, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on a record review the center did not ensure there was an annual fire inspection report of the facility.

Evidence:
The last documented fire inspection was dated 11/02/2022. The director confirmed that was the last fire inspection conducted at the center.
Plan of Correction: The Fire Marshal will be contacted today to schedule an inspection. The time, date and person spoken to will be documented for the center's records.
Standard 8VAC20-780-550-D
Based on a record review the center did not ensure monthly practice evacuation drills were implemented.
Evidence:
The center did not have documentation of an evacuation drill practiced in October 2023.
Plan of Correction: The Director thinks a drill was conducted on a day she was not in the office and it was not recorded. The Director will follow-up with staff.
