Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 05/22/2024. A tour of the facility was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with staff. The Inspector reviewed children?s and staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-240-A
Based on a record review the center did not ensure all staff had the required pre-service and annual updated 3 hour training.
Evidence:
Seven out of 20 staff did not have the 3 hour update annual pre-service training.
Plan of Correction: The director is new to the position and is in the process of locating all of the files. She is working on located all of the staff training and ensuring any staff that does not have the required 3 hour training will begin working on it.
Standard 8VAC20-780-500-A
Based on observation the center did not ensure all requirements were met when handwashing.
Evidence:
An infant staff was observed changing a child's soiled diaper. The staff member did not was her hands after changing the diaper and opening up a cabinet to grab supplies.
Plan of Correction: The director will retrain infant staff on the proper way to change diapers and how to avoid cross contamination by hashing hands properly.
