Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on10/18/2024, as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 2:00pm and ended at 3:45pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements. There were 100 children present and 19 staff. The inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 5 staff records. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 22.1-289.035-B-3
The center is required to obtain a copy of the results of a search of the central registry
maintained pursuant to ? 63.2-1515 for any founded complaint of child abuse or neglect
against him by the end of 30 days of employment.

The center did not have a copy of the results of a search of the central registry by the end of
30 days of employment for Staff #1 who has been employed for 4 months or for Staff #2
who has been employed for 3 months.
Plan of Correction: The director submitted both checks, however had not received anything back. The director will follow-up with the office of background check investigations and resubmit if necessary. Both will be supervised by a program leader.

The center is required to keep documentation to demonstrate that each staff person
possesses the education, certification, and experience required by the job position.

Staff #1 and #2 did not have documentation of having a high school diploma.
Plan of Correction: The director will obtain documentation of each staff member's high school
diplomas and keep it in their records.
