Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated on March 14, 2025 and completed on March 19, 2025. The on-site inspection began at 11:45am on March 14, 2025 and ended at 2:17pm on March 19, 2025. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 70 children present and 11 staff. The inspector reviewed 7 children?s records and 18 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on (4/3/2025). A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. The two-year-old room had a jar of petroleum jelly on the changing table and an unlocked cabinet containing two bottles of air freshener spray both with the label ?keep away from children? and accessible to children.
Plan of Correction: A safety lock has been added to the cabinet in the classroom, all personal belongings will be kept locked away, and out of reach of children.
Standard 8VAC20-780-440-E
There shall be at least 12 inches of space between occupied cots, beds, and rest mats. Five of the eight occupied cots in the toddler room had less than 12 inches of spacing in between them.
Plan of Correction: cots are spaced no less than 12 inches apart from each other.
