Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated on August 9, 2021 and concluded on August 11, 2021. There were 38 children present with 5 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record review and staff interviews, the vendor did not ensure all staff who work directly with children shall, in addition to preservice and orientation training required annually attend at least 16 hours of training and staff development activities, to include the department's health and safety update course.

Evidence: The record for Staff #1, Staff #2 and Staff #3 did not include the department's health and safety update course. The center director confirmed the staff had not obtained the training.
Plan of Correction: During COVID it has been very had to survive the every day stress. My staff will do this training to comply right away. Extra day to day compliance takes a lot of time.
