Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 12:45-1:45pm. There were 11 children directly supervised by 4 staff. The physical plant, 4 staff records, 4 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed napping, infant play, and being fed. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on record review and staff interviews, it was determined the new staff had not received training on prevention and response to emergencies due to food and other allergic reactions including recognizing the symptoms, responding to allergic reactions, and preventing cross contamination.
Evidence:
1. Review of new staff training and the few without MAT certification did not have training on Allergy prevention and preparation of emergencies in allergic reactions.
Plan of Correction: We will ensure all staff have that training.
