Inspector Notes
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 4/27/2023 from 9:13am to 12:31pm. At the time of entrance, 59 children were in care with 21 staff members present. Children were observed listening to the teacher read a book, playing in the play gallery, painting with watercolors, playing at a sand table, playing in centers, singing songs at circle time, washing hands, eating snack, playing outside with trucks and running around. The Infants were observed playing on the floor with their teachers and getting their diaper changed. Walls, bulletin boards and several other areas of the programming space was decorated with artwork, crafts and projects completed by the children. Interactions between the children and staff were positive. The site was clean, organized and contained an abundant supply of developmentally appropriate materials. The snack for this morning was English muffins, jelly and apple juice. A selection of staff and children records, medications, the physical space, evacuation drills, emergency supplies and attendance records were reviewed. 1. Staff #2 (Date of hire 11/07/2022) had a tuberculosis screening dated 6/09/2022.
Evidence:
1. Two green sofa fabric cushions had large cracks in the fabric approximately 12 inches long in classroom 143.
2. In the play gallery, a throw carpet was fraying and coming apart approximately 12 inches long.
3. On the playground, two yellow push toys had chipped paint on the frame.
Evidence:
1. In classroom 106, a spray bottle of bleach water was on top of a counter near the sink.
2. In classroom 143, a spray bottle of bleach water and two containers of Clorox bleach wipes were in the children's bathroom on top of a high cabinet above the sinks. A dust free spray was sitting on a low computer table in the classroom.
Evidence:
1. In classroom 138, a non-prescription medication had an authorization date of 8/13/2022 and was not returned to the parent or disposed of.
