Inspector Notes
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 7/18/2024 from 8:37am to 11:23am. At the time of entrance, 40 children were in care with 18 staff members present. Children were observed playing with toys and puzzles, washing hands, eating snack, playing in the inside gym, being held, during diaper changes, playing in the multipurpose room, playing with soap and water with toys, singing and playing with musical instruments and playing outside. (3) staff records, and (3) children?s records, the physical space and evacuation drills, emergency plan and attendance records were reviewed. The site was clean and organized. Interactions between the children and staff were positive. Walls and bulletin boards were decorated with artwork. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Repeat violations were found and are identified within this report.

Please specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Please do not use staff names; list staff by positions only.

3Evidence:
1. Staff #1 (Date of hire 4/09/2024) had not completed the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course.
Based on observation, areas of the center inside were not maintained in a safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
1. In classroom 143, the paint was chipping near the window on the left side edge.
Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were not kept in a
locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
1. In classroom 105, a spray bottle of bleach and water was inside an unlocked cabinet under the changing table.
