Violations

2
Standard 8VAC20-800-350-E
Based on temperatures taken with a digital thermometer during the inspection, the licensee did not ensure that hot water at taps available to children shall be maintained within a range of 105 degrees Fahrenheit to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Evidence:
The hot water at the the hand washing sink in the restroom used by children in care measured 127 Degrees Fahrenheit during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: The licensee stated that she would have the adjustment made to the hot water heater by the weekend to ensure it is no hotter than 120degrees Fahrenheit.
Until then, a caregiver will adjust the water temperature and supervise children using the sink to ensure the water is not too hot.
Standard 8VAC20-800-60-B
Based on a review of records and interview, the licensee did not ensure that each enrolled child's record contained all of the required information.

Evidence:
Two children's records were reviewed during the inspection.
The record for child #2 did not contain information on chronic physical problems, pertinent development information and any special accommodations need nor did it contain information regarding allergies and intolerance to food, medication or other substances and actions to take in an emergency situation.
The spaces provided for this information were left blank.
The licensee acknowledged that this information had not been completed in the child's record.
Plan of Correction: The licensee stated that she would obtain this information and update child #2's record the same evening when the child is picked up from care.
