Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using and alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on August 30, 2021 and concluded on September 9, 2021. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 44 children present directly supervised by 10 staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. The children were observed individual activities and transitioning to lunch. The inspector reviewed on4 children records and 4 staff records.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on staff records review, there was not documentation the child day center obtain a copy of the results of a out of state criminal history name check, a search of the child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence:
Staff #1 (date of employment 8/02/2021) did not have documentation of child abuse and neglect registry and state criminal history name check from the District of Columbia.
Plan of Correction: Staff #1 had child abuse and neglect registry and state criminal history for Virginia but is awaiting the results for DC.
