Inspector Notes

An on-site renewal inspection was conducted on April 11, 2022. In the care of the provider and one assistant were 8 children, ranging in age from 13 months to 4 years (21 Points). The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical health of caregivers, training, care of children, physical environment, nutrition, preventing the spread of disease, and emergencies. Three children's records, the provider's record and the records of three assistants were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations

1
Standard 8VAC20-800-70-A
Based on the review of children's records and confirmation from the provider, the provider failed to provide the parent of one child with all of the required information before the child's first day of attendance.

Evidence:
1. The record for Child #3 contained a copy of the provider's policy for the administration of medications that had been signed by the parent and signed by the provider on 07/16/2021. The child's first day of attendance was 06/16/2021.
2. The provider confirmed that the written policy was late in being signed by the parent.
Plan of Correction: The provider will ensure that all required information is given to the parents before a child first day of attendance.
