Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site code compliance monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on 7/30/2024. The on-site inspection began at 10:55 am and ended at 12:25 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 56 children present and 10 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observation.

Based on a review of records and interview, the center did not always obtain the results of a criminal history record information check, a sex offender registry check, and a search of the child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence:
Five staff records were reviewed during today's inspection.
The record for staff #4, whose record contained documentation that she resided in South Carolina within the past 5 years, did not contain results of a sex offender search from South Caroline.
Staff #4 began employment 6/24/2024 and is currently employed by the center.
Plan of Correction: The program director completed an online search of the federal sex offender registry for staff #4, printed the results, and placed the results in staff #4's record during the inspection.
