Inspector Notes
An unannounced monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on 12/12/2024 in response to a self-report received by the licensing office on 10/28/2024 relating to medication administration.
The inspector reviewed 1 child record and 4 staff records on-site.
This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Violations
3On 10/28/2024, staff #1 administered child #1's prescribed medication to child #1 in response to a medical emergency.
The center did not obtain written parent/guardian or physician authorization to administer prescription medications to Child #1.
Written authorization has been obtained for this child's emergency medication and 5 staff have obtained the required Medication Administration Training, so far.
On 10/28/2024, staff #1, who had not obtained the required MAT training, administered child #1's prescribed medication to him in response to a medical emergency.
On 10/28/2024, child #1's prescription medication was stored unlocked in a diaper bag in the classroom at a height of approximately 6 feet from floor level.
