Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was initiated on August 25, 2022, from 10am to approximately 12:20pm. There were 54 children present and 10 staff members. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental Inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented. The violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the center and were reviewed with the assistant director at the exit interview.

Based on record review and interview, it was determined that the vendor did not ensure that for each staff person there be a certification of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Evidence:
1. Staff #2 has an expired First Aid and CPR certification dated April 13, 2022.
2. Staff #1 confirmed that Staff #2 has expired First Aid and CPR.
Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: Staff #1 will schedule a recertification class for Staff #2.
