Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was conducted on September 16, 2021. The program manager was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 20 children present, ranging in age from 5 to 12 years, and in the care of three staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies. A total of 3 children's records and 3 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 22VAC40-185-160-C
Based on review of three staff records and verification from the program manager, one staff member did not obtain the results of a two year follow-up tuberculosis (TB) screening.

Evidence:
1. The most recent tuberculosis screening for Staff Member #2 was dated 02/17/2019. An updated two-year negative screening or test had not been obtained.
2. The program manager confirmed that Staff Member #2 had not gotten an updated TB screening.
Plan of Correction: The staff member has gotten the paperwork and will get a updated TB screening asap.
