Inspector Notes
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 2/13/2023 and concluded on 2/13/2023. There were 31 children present with four staff supervising and two office staff present. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records and five staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 1:45 pm and concluded at 3:20 pm.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Violations
5Evidence:
Staff #5 was in a lead teacher role during the time the inspection was taking place. Staff #5 does not meet the lead teacher qualifications.
Evidence:
1. The tricycles on the lower playground are covered with rust.
2. The Little Tykes climbing square has a green wall that has pinch points on top, accessible to children. The blue slide is broken at the top which could snag skin or clothing.
3. The white cabinets in the infant room and the vanity in the office bathroom (used by the children) have veneer peeling. These areas are accessible to the children.
The veneer was removed from the cabinets.
Evidence:
The cabinet in the K4 bathroom was unlocked. This cabinet had several containers of cleaning supplies.
This area is accessible to the children.
Evidence:
During the inspection staff #4 was observed preparing snack for the class in the kitchen. When the LI returned to staff #4?s classroom there was no staff in the room with the children. The children were out of actual sight and sound supervision of staff for approximately 2 minutes.
Evidence:
During snack in the infant room the 13 months ? 2 years old children were given a whole fruit roll up.
