Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on June 27, 2023 from approximately 12:50 PM to 3:45 PM. There were 114 children present, ranging in ages from infant to school-age, with 16 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 10 child records and 10 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction and the date to be corrected for each violation listed on the violation notice and return it to the department within 5 business days from receipt. Your plan of correction should contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s); 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventative measures

Based on observation, the center did not ensure that staff washed their hands with soap and running water after a diaper change.

Evidence:
In classroom #1, a staff member was observed changing a diaper. After the staff member finished changing the diaper, she did not wash her hands with soap and running water.

Based on observation, the center did not ensure that soiled diapers were discarded in a leakproof or plastic-lined storage system that is either foot operated or used in such a way that neither the staff member's hand nor the soiled diaper touches an exterior surface of the storage system during disposal.

Evidence:
1. In room #3, diapers and/or pull ups were discarded in a large trash can without either foot operated.
