Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 3/7/2024. There were 14 children, ages 5 -10 years and 2 staff present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel, environment and equipment, care of children, preventing the spread of disease, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 6 children?s records and 3 staff records were reviewed. The children were observed during arrival, center time and snack time. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 2:38pm and departed the center at 3:49pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Standard 8VAC20-780-70
Based on the review of three staff records, the center failed to ensure that the following staff records shall be kept for each staff person: First aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and other certifications as required by the responsibilities held by the staff member.

Evidence: Staff #3 was hired on 9/16/2023 and on the day of the inspection did not have training in CPR and first aid documented in the staff record.
Plan of Correction: Provider will obtain cpr and first aid training and document in staff record.
