22.1 Early Childhood Care and Education

Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted beginning at 4:25 p.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m. There were 18 children in care ages 5 through 10 years old under the supervision of 3 staff. Children were observed having outdoor playtime.

Emergency drills were up to date. Two medication authorizations were reviewed. There is currently no medication on site. Five children's records were reviewed. Emergency supplies were observed including a battery operated radio and flashlight.

A desk review of staff files was conducted off site. Five staff records including training hours were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of documentation, the center failed to obtain completed sworn statement or affirmation prior to the first day of employment. Evidence: Staff #2, start date 10/19/2023, sworn statement was dated 10/23/2023. Staff #3, start date 10/19/2023, sworn statement was dated 10/30/2023.
Plan of Correction: This has already been addressed them with the Site Manager. Our Operations Manager is also participating in the orientation process now to ensure we get these back in when they are due.
