Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted in conjunction with the licensing inspection. Subsidy standards that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this SHSI. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
All staff who work directly with children shall have cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training within 90 days of the date of employment.
1.There is no documentation to show that Staff #1 and Staff #2 (both employed for 2 and a half years) have completed CPR training.
2. The documentation of CPR training for Staff #3 (employed for seven months) show that the staff member did not complete CPR training within 90 days of employment, which is required.
Plan of Correction: Program Director has enrolled Staff #1 and Staff #2 in a CPR course, certificate will be documented in staff file. Program Director will ensure that all staff CPR will be completed prior to employment date. Program Director has created a staff audit spreadsheet to ensure compliance of staff files.
