22VAC40-185 STAFF QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING.

Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews) and a virtual tour of the program. A renewal inspection was initiated on 10/14/2021 and concluded on 10/14/2021. The Center Supervisor was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 20 children present, ranging in ages from 5 years to 12 years, with 5 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 5 staff raining records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on a review of staff records and staff interview, the center has agreed to administer prescribed medications and there is no staff in attendance that has current MAT training for the two children needing medication administration.
Evidence: There are 2 children in attendance this date that have emergency medication for allergies. None of the 5 staff have current MAT training.
Plan of Correction: One staff is scheduled to take MAT training by the end of October 2021.
