Inspector Notes
A renewal inspection was conducted on 02/15/2023 . There were 120 children present, ranging in ages from 2 yrs to 4 yrs, with 35 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 8 child records and 7 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program and discussed with the Assistant Director during the exit interview.
Violations

The most recent results of a central registry search for staff 7 were obtained 12/18/2017.
The CPS central registry search will be immediately requested for staff 7. The tracking form for background checks will be reviewed for accuracy to ensure updates are obtained in a timely fashion,
Evidence:
The most recent tuberculosis screening in the record provided for staff 8 is dated 02/10/2021.
Staff 8 was reminded of the need for a repeat tuberculosis screening. Her screening is scheduled for next week.
Evidence:
The facility could not provide documentation that staff 3, employed since 8/29/2022, completed the required ten hour orientation course.
Staff 3 will be immediately required to complete the preservice orientation training. In the future, all staff will complete the training within 90 days of employ.
Evidence:
There was a container of Epsom Salts, labeled "warning" and "keep out of reach of children" in a curtained cupboard under the children's handwashing sink.
The Epsom Salts was immediately moved to a locked cabinet. Staff were reminded to check all items for hazard/warning labels and to keep all potentially hazardous substances in locked cabinets.
