Inspector Notes

An unannounced Code Compliance inspection was conducted with the Director from 9:45 am to 10:30 am. Sixty-three children were present with ten staff providing supervision. The ages of the children ranged from 3 to 5 years. The children were observed dancing, learning about science during work time, outside on the playground and handwashing. Seven staff files were reviewed as well as verification that staff on site has Medication Administration Training, Daily Health Observation Training and First Aid/CPR certification. The areas of non compliance is outlined on the violation notice.

Based on a review of seven staff files and interview with the Administrative staff, it was determined that there was no repeat background check every five years.
Evidence:
Staff A's Sworn Disclosure Statement was dated 9/12/16 and the check had not been repeated within five years of that date.
Plan of Correction: We will have staff A complete the Sworn Disclosure Statement today.
Standard 22.1-289.058
Based on observation and interview it was determined that there is no carbon monoxide detector in the building.
Plan of Correction: We will install a carbon monoxide detector tomorrow.
