Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was initiated and completed on 02/01/2024 from 10:30 am - 1:40 pm. At the time of the tour there were 39 children in care with 6 teaching staff. The children ranged in age from 22 months - five years.

Children were observed during morning program time. Nap was observed at approximately 1:30 pm.
Records were reviewed for five staff and four children in care.

Based on the information gathered one violation was observed in the area of medication labeling. This violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the facility and was reviewed with the program director at the conclusion of the inspection.

Based on medication review, the center failed to ensure that medication shall be labeled with the child's name.

Evidence:
1. Three over-the-counter medications were not labeled with the child's name.
a. These medications were stored inside of a labeled plastic bag however, the actual medication box was not labeled with the child's name as required.
Plan of Correction: Medications were labeled with each child's name.
