Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 12/18/2023.There were 19 children present with 4 staff supervising. The children were observed during arrival time and center time. A total of 5 child records and 4 staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 3:45 pm and concluded at 4:45 pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-430-K
Based on observation and staff interview the center did not ensure that provisions shall be made for an individual place for each child?s personal belongings.

Evidence: The director confirmed that the baskets for children to use for their personal belongings were not big enough so the children?s personal belongings were all together on tables in the cafeteria.
Plan of Correction: Program will purchase larger baskets for site usage.
Standard 8VAC20-780-80-A
Based on observation and staff interviews the center did not ensure for each group of children, the center shall maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.

Evidence: The director confirmed that the attendance record showed 18 children checked in when there were 19 children present.
Plan of Correction: Staff will ensure that all participants are registered weekly.
