Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and an in person tour of the program.
A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated on November 3, 2022 and concluded on November 7, 2022. There were 46 children present with 10 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
Based on a review of 5 staff records and staff interviews, the vendor did not ensure staff completed who work directly with children shall have obtained within 90 days of the date of hire a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care. The training shall include an in- person competency demonstration.

Evidence: The record for Staff #2 (date of hire 7-11-2022) did not include documentation of the required CPR certification.
Plan of Correction: Staff member had completed online, CPR training and is scheduled for in person training .
Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-2
Based on a review of 5 staff records and staff interviews, the vendor did not ensure staff completed who work directly with children shall have obtained within 90 days of the date of hire a current certification in first aid appropriate to the ages of children in care.
