Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 09/27/2022 from 8:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. There were 9 children present, ranging in ages from 3 to 4 years old, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-530-A-1
Based on observation and interview, the center failed to ensure that at least one staff in each classroom where children are present had current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification (CPR).
Evidence:
1. Staff #1 and #2 were observed to be the only staff members in Classroom #1.
2. Staff #1 and Staff # 2?s CPR certification expired on 08/18/2022. Staff #1 and #2 did not have updated CPR certification on file.
3. Staff #1 confirmed that Staff #1 and Staff #2 did not have updated CPR certification.
