Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A code compliance inspection was initiated on 3/25/2021 and concluded on 3/25/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 34 children present and 10 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable code sections and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Based on record review, the center did not obtain Virginia child abuse and neglect results for a staff member by the end of the 30th day of employment.

Evidence:
1. Staff #1,(Date of hire 09/21/2020), did not have documentation of central registry results available for review.
Plan of Correction: The school sent the application and paperwork to the VA Department of Social Services originally, but did not receive the form back. We called after inspection to get it sent, but no one returned our calls, so we resent the form on 4/1/2021.
