Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A code compliance inspection was initiated on 10/6 and concluded on 10/15. The director was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were 53 children present and 11 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable code sections and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. Based on file review, 3 staff files did not have a completed search of the central registry (SCR) within the past 5 years.
Evidence
1. Staff #1's most recent SCR was submitted for completion on 7/30/21. However, no follow up was done and has still not been completed.
2. Staff #3's most recent SCR was completed on 8/22/16.
3. Staff #4's most recent SCR was submitted for completion on 5/17/21. However, no follow up was done and has still not been completed.
Plan of Correction: These background checks will be completed again.
