Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 1/20/22 and concluded on 1/26/22. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 81children present with 17 direct care staff and 2 administrative staff present. A total of 4 child records and 4 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record review and interview, the center did not ensure that they obtain the results of the fingerprint based background check prior to the first day of employment.

Evidence:
1. 1. Staff 1 has a hire date of 10/12/21. The results of the fingerprint based background check for staff 1 was not received until 11/15/21.
2. The center director confirmed that staff 1 began employment prior to the results of the fingerprint background checks being received.
Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: Going forward, all fingerprint based background checks will be obtained before new staff begin employment.

Based on interview and a review of emergency drill records, the center did not ensure that practice evacuation drills are conducted monthly.

Evidence:
1. There was no documentation of a practice evacuation drill for November 2021.
2. The center director confirmed that a practice evacuation drill was not conducted in November 2021.
Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: The center will ensure that evacuation drills are practiced monthly.
