Inspector Notes
An investigation occurred on 9/28/2023 between the hours of 10:30am-2:08pm in response to a self-reported incident received by the department regarding supervision. The evidence gathered during the investigation did not support non-compliance with standards or law. Any violations not related to the self-report but identified during the course of the investigation can be found on the violation notice. Based on observation and staff interview, children under 10 years of age are not always within sound supervision of staff when using the restroom.
Evidence:
1. During an interview, staff reported that at times, children are permitted to walk from their classroom to the restroom without being accompanied by a staff member. The Staff person further explained that when staff are not located in the hallway where the restroom is located, sound supervision was being provided by staff in the classroom adjacent to the restroom.
2. Based on observation during the inspection, sound supervision could not be provided to children in the restroom by staff located in the classroom, as the children in the restroom could not be heard from inside the classroom.
