Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 08/28/2023. There were 57 children, ages 9 months-4 years, 12 staff providing direct care and supervision and various support staff present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staff qualifications and trainings, staffing and supervision, physical plant, programs, emergencies and nutrition. The children were observed in free choice activities, center play, and during lunch. A total of 6 children?s records and 6 medications were reviewed; staff records will be reviewed at a later date with administration. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 9:40 am and departed at 12:25 pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Based on observations, the center failed to ensure that children?s hands shall be washed with soap and running water after toileting.

Evidence: The handwashing sinks are located outside of the restroom in each classroom. Child 1 was observed exiting the classroom restroom and immediately returning to the play area. Child 1 did not wash their hands with soap and running water after toileting.
Plan of Correction: Will provide one on one training with staff and will have handwashing monitored.
