Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on March 3, 2023. There were 11 children present, with 3 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence
Two bottles of lotion, (keep out of reach of children) was located on top of a cabinet making them accessible to children.
Plan of Correction: Both bottles of lotion were locked up during the inspection. We will make sure all hazardous substances are locked up.
Standard 8VAC20-780-560-G
Based on observation, when food is brought from home, it was not labeled with a child's name with current date.
Evidence
Lunch boxes that were brought from home were not all labeled with a child's name and current date.
Plan of Correction: We will make sure all food brought from home is labeled with the child's name and current date.
