Inspector Notes

An unannounced Monitoring Inspection took place on September 25, 2023 between the hours of approximately 10:10 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. Today was a Teacher Workday. There were 2 classrooms observed with a total of 34 children with 2 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed using tablets, painting and other organized activities. Positive interaction between staff and children were observed. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, and medication was conducted during this inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on record review and staff interview, the center failed to ensure that any child for whom emergency medications have been prescribed are always in the care of a staff member with the required medication administration training.

Evidence:
1. At the time of inspection, there were two children present with emergency medications. There were no staff present with a current MAT certification.
2. 3 out of the 3 staff present confirmed that they did not have a MAT certification.

Based on staff interview, the center failed to maintain, in a way that is accessible to all staff who work with children, a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions.

Evidence: When asked about the location of the center's allergy list, Staff #2, #3, and #4 stated that they did not know where it was located.
