Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by Licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, document review, and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 9/13/2021 and concluded on 9/14/2021. The site Supervisor was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 38 children in care, ranging in ages from 6years to 11years, with 5 staff supervising. The Inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies. A total of 3 children's records and 5 staff site records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and one violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on a review of children's medications, it was determined the center did not follow the procedures for giving medication.
Evidence:
Two long term emergency medication authorizations for child C have expired. Both of these authorizations were completed and dated for the 2020-2021 school year. These authorizations expired on the first day of school for the current 2021-2022 school year.
Plan of Correction: I will ask either the school nurse or the parent's for current medication authorizations.
