Inspector Notes

Conducted an unannounced renewal inspection at 10:15am. Observed 19 children + 3 staff. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were making a variety of art projects, playing with toys and video games, and going outside for active play. The classrooms were clean and well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. Staff were actively engaged with the children and activities. Areas of non-compliance with standards and laws reviewed were found. Questions about this inspection may be directed to pamela.sneed@doe.virginia.gov

Based on interview conducted, it was determined that a working battery-operated radio was available as a non-medical emergency supply item. Evidence: Staff #1 indicated that the center did not have the required radio.
Plan of Correction: The center supervisor said a radio would be purchased.
Standard 8VAC20-780-550-P
Based on records reviewed, it was determined that 1 of 2 written injury reports did not include required information. Evidence: A report written on 2/27/23 did not include date , time and how parents were notified, treatment given, and 2 signatures.
Plan of Correction: The report was completed during the inspection.
