Inspector Notes
Conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection at 3:35pm. Observed 29 children and 3 direct-care staff. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were observed arriving to the program, reading books, playing with toys, making an art project and going to the gym for active play. Staff were actively engaged with the children and activities. The facility was found to be clean and well supplied toys and equipment for the children. An area of non-compliance with standards and laws reviewed was found. Questions about this inspection may be directed to pamela.sneed@doe.virginia.gov
Standard 8VAC20-780-40-E
Based on records reviewed and information obtained from SACC management, staff failed to follow the medication policies/procedures by not ensuring that an emergency medication was on-site. Evidence: A medication authorization belonging to Child #3 indicated specific medication be given in an emergency, but the medication was not on-site, as required.
Plan of Correction: I will ask parents to provide medication to have at center
Standard 8VAC20-780-60-A
Based on records reviewed, staff failed to ensure that 1 of 2 children's records reviewed included required information. Evidence: The record for Child #4 did not include the name, address and phone number of 2 of 2 emergency contact persons. The parents were listed.
Plan of Correction: Ask parents to provide 2 emergency contact information [sic]
