Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on March 5, 2024, from 8:50am-9:30am. At the time of entrance, ( 36 ) children were in care with (2 ) staff members present, more children arrived during this inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 5 staff training records. Children were observed arriving to the all day program, participating in Tournament Day, playing Air Hockey, board games, cards and Legos. Medications were observed. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice.

Based on observation and staff interview, the 1 staff to every 18 children ratio for the school age program was not being followed.
Evidence: Upon the inspectors arrival at 8:50 am there were 36 children, age range 5-12 years with 2 staff. The children continued to arrive during this inspection. Upon the Inspectors departure at 9:30 am, there were 2 staff with 46 children. The other 2 staff were scheduled to arrive at 9:45 am.
Plan of Correction: The center supervisor will contact the regional supervisor to request morning staff assistance for the next teacher work day.
