22.1 Early Childhood Care and Education

During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the program was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was conducted on 4/21/25. The on-site inspection began at 1:22pm and ended at 2:14pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 28 children present and 3 staff. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 0 staff records while on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility and interviews. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 4/29/25. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

A can of stain was found in an unlocked lower level cabinet.
Plan of Correction: The stain paint was removed and the cabinet was relocked.
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-I
The center may administer prescription medication that would normally be administered by a parent or guardian to a child provided the center has obtained written authorization from a parent/guardian.

The medication authorization form for a prescription medication belonging to Child #8 was not signed by the parent.
Plan of Correction: The parent of child#8 was given back the form and on 4/22/25 and the parent signed and dated it. [sic]
Standard 8VAC20-780-60-A-8
A written care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction shall be in the child's record.

There was no written allergy care plan for Child #9 who has a diagnosed food allergy.
Plan of Correction: Fare Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis emergency care plan form was shown to the parent (since this not one of our forms) staff advise parent that she would need to get from her doctor and return to Sacc by 4/28/25.
