Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between the hours of 2:45 pm-3:45 pm. There were a total of 24 children with 4 staff members present. Children were observed during snack time, engaged in group activities, and hand washing. A selection of staff and children records, medications and other documents were reviewed. The physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Based on review of documentation and interview, staff did not complete The Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course within 90 calendar days of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1's record (Start date-12/10/2021) did not contain documentation of The Virginia Department of Education sponsored orientation course.
2. Staff #1 confirmed that they started the course, but only completed half of the course.
Plan of Correction: The staff member will complete the course and document the record.
